Apollo Energy will be rubbing shoulders with Manchester City legends in a charity football match to raise money for homelessness charity, Shelter.

Apollo Energy is a main match sponsor of the Progress Charity Cup which will see Progress United – from the Progress Housing Group - take on the might of MCFC Legends including Peter Barnes, Colin Hendry, Paul Dickov, Shaun Goater, Nicky Weaver and Uwe Rosler.

Kicking off on Saturday 12th May, all money raised from ticket sales will go to Shelter, which supports people who are homeless or living in housing that is inadequate.

As sponsors of the football match, Apollo Energy will be featured on the mascots’ shirts and Progress United’s football kit.

Progress Housing Group owns and manage nearly 11,000 homes and has been delivering affordable housing to rent and related housing services for over 23 years.

Director Eddie Gray said they were thrilled to be sponsoring such a high profile charity event. He said: “The team at Shelter do an amazing job and we are thrilled to be able to help raise money for such a worthy cause and support our client, Progress Housing.

“We’re really looking forward to the match – it should be a great afternoon. We have quite a few football supporters in the office so everyone’s really looking forward to it.”

The family friendly fun day takes place at the Lancashire Football Association County Ground in Leyland. Gates will open at 12noon and the match will kick off at 1.30pm.
